MILTON JONES Live @ The Duke, Neath. – 31st May 2012

Featured

On Thurs May 31st, The Duke welcomes yet another massive star of the comedy world, ‘Mock the Week’ regular, star of ‘Live at the Apollo’, ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’ and Dave’s ‘One Night Stand’ and Perrier Award Winner MILTON JONES.

The Clown’s Pocket Comedy Club has been proud to bring huge names such as RUFUS HOUND, JARRED CHRISTMAS, HOWARD MARKS and TONY LAW to The Duke and we are extra proud to bring the man that many believe to be the best one line comedian on the planet, complete with weird shirt!

Milton usually sells out very large theatres and halls so here is a rare opportunity to watch the master of surreal one-liners at work in a far more intimate environment, The Clowns’ Pocket Comedy Club @ The Duke, which is more than just a little surreal itself!

Silky @ The Clown’s Pocket Comedy Club, Neath. – 26th April 2012

Headlining our April gig is the brilliant SILKY, a man described by Tim Minchin as ‘funny and clever’ and by John Bishop as ‘a very, very funny fella … just brilliant’. Don’t take their word for it, come and see for yourself.

Liverpudlian-in-exile Silky has been a full time comedian for half his life. As well as having made several TV appearances on BBC 1 and on Comedy Central, Silky has also headlined comedy clubs the world over from Kuwait to the Melbourne Comedy Festival, from the Glastonbury Festival to Kosovo! He is also a crowd favourite at all the top clubs in the UK.

Silky is unique with such a difficult style to describe, the words from a Liverpool Daily Post review below give you a good idea.

‘The man just has an overwhelming nose for mischief and trouble … the entire show went hilariously off kilter as Silky just went where the evening took him. It was fascinating to see how he willingly, joyously, threw himself into the bear pit and revelled in living on his wits for the entire show’.

‘Silky makes rooms rock. More addictive than Crack.’

Ian Cognito @ The Clown’s Pocket Comedy Club, Neath. – 29th March 2012

The Clown’s Pocket Comedy Club, Neath is very proud to present IAN COGNITO as the headliner for our March show on Thurs 29th.

Revered amongst his comic peers as one of the best comedians in the world today his exploits on the circuit are nothing short of legendary. One of the most influential comedians of modern times Ian has been responsible for the shape of the careers of many of the comedians you see on TV today. Some of which he is pleased about.

He has become one of the most respected comedians in the world by consistently doing great performances. That he is so remarkably unfamous can be put down to one thing: Ian Cognito has never been on television in any shape or form. A fact which he is quite proud of.

“The trouble with a moustache is that you can taste what you’ve been eating. I got fed up of mine tasting of TV producers arseholes.” Ian Cognito

Ian has headlined some of the best line ups in British comedy putting many big names in the shade. However, the longer you spend in the comedy arena, the more people you will upset, particularly if you take the risks that Ian takes. Consequently Ian is banned from more comedy clubs than any other British comedian. Ian Cognito is not proud of this. The comedy business should be ashamed.

“Awesome. Bags of gags and an unpredictability that I can only liken to human Semtex. Aggressive, sure. Clever and hilarious, definitely. Mad as a Hatter, without a doubt.”

ITV 1′s Dan Mitchell @ The Clown’s Pocket Comedy Club, Neath – 27th October 2011

Headlining The Clown’s Pocket October show is DAN MITCHELL who has recently completed a nationwide tour after coming second in ITV 1’s ‘SHOW ME THE FUNNY’ after a live vote in the Hammersmith Apollo watched by millions. In the process he earned rave reviews from some ofthe world’s best comics and most feared critics.

As a performer, he is wild and unpredictable, sometimes manic; Dan is like an excitable child who’s been given an audience to play with. He can be also described as massively hairy.

His comedy acting has helped him gain parts in the extras of both of Rhod Gilbert’s best selling dvds, on BBC’s ‘Funny Business’ and on Pobol Y Cwm!

“Absolutely brilliant”-Ross Noble

“Welcome to the world of Dan”-Alan Davies
